High School Economics
This self-paced high school Economics course is structured as a semester-long course, yet, offers the student the flexibility to work at their own pace. The lessons start with an introduction to Economics, providing a solid foundation from which to begin. Lessons are organized into sections that teach, reinforce, and test students on the concepts of Economics, including:
- Supply/demand
- Producers/consumers
- Currency/credit
- Debt/deficit
- Economic recession
- Monopolies
- Taxes
In addition, students will learn important financial and life skills for their next stage, including:
- How to open and manage a bank account
- How to apply for and interview for jobs
- Compare benefit packages
- Understanding paystubs
- Establishing good credit and budgeting using credit
- Identity theft
- Purchasing/leasing a vehicle
- Renting an apartment and calculating interest
The video lessons by the teacher introduce the concepts, while assigned reading, videos, and worksheets reinforce understanding. Utilizing multiple sources for information makes the information interesting and fun to learn. Yes, learning about Economics can be fun AND interesting!
